Natal sudah dekat, hanya 4 hari lagi.
Sudah siapkah kita menyambut Natal?
Tentu sudah, sebagian dari kita tentu sudah mempersiapkan liburan Natal di luar negeri, atau cukup di Bali. Sudah siap dengan pakaian baru menyambut Natal. Sudah siap dengan rencana melewatkan Natal dan Tahun baru bersama keluarga.
Atau sebagian dari kita turut mempersiapkan rencana acara Natal nan meriah di gereja. Menghias Gereja dengan pohon natal dan pernak pernik ceria. Mempersiapkan paduan suara yang indah indah. Melatih anak anak untuk menampilkan operete Natal yang memukau.
Mungkin tak lupa juga kita sudah mempersiapkan berbagai macam bingkisan natal untuk orang tua, sanak saudara, sahabat, relasi. Bahkan kita sudah memesan berbagai macam kue kering dan panganan khas natal yang sungguh nikmat.
Persiapan menyambut Kelahiran Kristus sang Raja, semua kita sudah siapkan. Benarkah?
Siapa sebenarnya tokoh utama dalam perayaan Natal itu ?
Apakah persiapan kita sudah melibatkan Dia yang akan kita sambut?
Jangan jangan, kita justru sibuk mempersiapkan berbagai macam acara dan makanan serta hadiah, tetapi justru lupa, kalau Natal adalah memperingati hari kelahiran Jesus. Jadi dalam hal ini justru Jesus lah yang sedang berulang tahun. Dan kita melupakan dia karena sibuk mempersiapkan berbagai kesenangan duniawi?
Ribuan tahun sebelum Natal Pertama, umat Yahudi sudah merindukan peristiwa Natal ini. Nabi-nabi, sudah menyampaikan nubuat tentang akan datang Sang Juru Selamat. Dan ketika Sang Juru Selamat hadir di tengah manusia. Justru kelahirannya tidak disambut. Bahkan untuk tempat lahirnya, manusia menyediakan tempat yang hina. Bahkan yang datang menjenguk hanya manusia dari kelas sosial yang rendah. Musik yang mengiringi kelahirannya bukanlah opera nan indah, tetapi lenguh ternak di kandang. Manusia melupakan saat penting yang paling dinanti nantikan setelah ribuan tahun.
Setelah kelahiranNya, setelah kematianNya yang tragis, kita masih tetap merayakan hari saat Dia datang ke dunia. Setiap tahun, terutama oleh kita, anda dan saya, beserta seluruh umat Kristen di dunia. Tetapi perayaan yang bagaimana? Perayaan yang sesuai dengan keinginan kita, atau perayaan yang sesuai dengan keinginan Dia yang berulang tahun?
Tahun lalu, dan tahun-tahun sebelumnya, kita juga merayakan Natal. Kita mempersiapkan acara Natal. Tetapi apakah persiapan kita hanya persiapan lahiriah yang sedap dipandang mata? Atau persiapan bathiniah yang sesuai dengan kehendakNya?
Apa saja yang sudah kita persiapkan sejak Natal tahun lalu hingga Natal tahun ini? Apakah kita sudah menjadi manusia Kristen (pengikut Kristus) yang lebih baik? Apakah kita sudah menjadi lebih dekat dengan Dia dalam hal perbuatan, sikap, tutur kata, pengampunan dan kasih?
Sudah siapkah kita menyambut Dia sang Raja di atas segala raja di dalam hati dan pikiran kita?
