US President Barack Obama is coming to Bali for EAS

(AFP) – US President Barack Obama will attend the East Asia Summit (EAS) on the Indonesian resort island of Bali on November 19, a local official said on Thursday. Bali provincial government spokesman Ketut Teneng said US Ambassador Scot Marciel had informed the regional authorities of Obama's intention to attend the regional strategic dialogue, which also includes China and Russia.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is to visit Bali in July, when the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is holding its Regional Forum dialogue from the 15th to the 23rd, he said.
"On Wednesday afternoon, the Bali governor met with the US ambassador. He was informed that President Obama would visit Bali this November to attend the East Asia Summit," Teneng said.
"Hillary Clinton also plans to visit Bali this July in order to attend an international meeting and to check the preparations for Obama's visit," he added.

The US embassy was not immediately able to confirm either visit.
It would be Obama's second official visit to Indonesia, a mainly Muslim archipelago in Southeast Asia where the US president spent part of his childhood in the late 1960s.
Indonesia is hosting the regional dialogue in its capacity as chair of ASEAN, the 10-nation grouping which forms the core of the broader EAS.
The United States and Russia were admitted to the 18-nation EAS last year, but Obama did not attend the leaders' meeting in Hanoi in October, sending Clinton in his place.
Chinese President Hu Jintao is also expected to attend the summit, which closely follows meetings of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Group of 20 rich and developing countries.

BMW Group announced plans to expand its business in Indonesia

New York: BMW Group announced plans to expand its business in Indonesia. German car manufacturer will invest approximately 100 billion new investments in the next two years.

BMW to boost production with US$11.7m investment

German-based auto maker BMW Group is committed to invest some Rp 100 billion (US$11.7 million) in Indonesia for the next two years to increase its production capacity and strengthen its sales and distribution network.

BMW Group vice president Graeme Grieve said on Tuesday that the investment would be used to modernize its assembly line at a plant in Sunter, North Jakarta, with new production facilities. The plant, owned by PT Astra International’s subsidiary, PT Gaya Motor, currently assembles the BMW 3 Series.

“This investment will help us increase our production capacity from four cars a day to eight cars per day,” he said during the announcement of the plan, with BMW aiming to produce 3,000 cars per year.

He added that BMW would recruit some 60 new production workers in addition to the existing 46 workers in the plant to meet the higher production rate.

Grieve said BMW would also assemble the 5 Series at the plant in addition to the 3 Series currently being assembled.

He said all the locally assembled cars would be for the domestic market, as demand for BMW cars had increased significantly in recent years thanks to the country’s dynamic economic growth.

BMW also introduced two other brands under its belt at the event, MINI and Rolls-Royce, as part of the celebration commemorating PT BMW Indonesia’s 10th anniversary.

PT BMW Indonesia president director Ramesh Divyanathan said part of the investment would be for MINI distribution.

“In the near future we will build stores for MINIs, including outside Jakarta,” he said without providing numbers or locations of the outlets.

BMW said in a statement that the MINI models would be introduced at the end of 2011 when its authorized dealership opens.

BMW also launched its 6 Series convertible model, first introduced at the North America International Auto Show in January.

BMW’s sold 1,240 cars in 2010, up by 37.62 percent from 2009’s 901 cars sold. Compared to 2008’s 720 cars, the 2009 sales increased by 25.14 percent. BMW sold 461 cars in the first four months of this year.

Grieve said Indonesia’s sales were still very low compared to the global sales of 1.5 million units.

“However, we consider Indonesia an important market. That’s why we put more focus on Indonesia besides our traditional market of BRIC [Brazil, Russia, India and China] and other growing markets such as Turkey,” he said.

Rolls-Royce Asia’s Pacific regional director Paul Harris said there were 2,711 Rolls-Royce sold world wide in 2010.
New Investments were used to expand production activities in Indonesia, namely BMW production increase in its factory at PT. Gaya Motor, one of the international business unit of PT.Astra. "This investment is aimed at increasing the  production of 4 units per day to 8 units per day and will continue the model to be assembled in Indonesia the BMW 5 series and X3," said BMW Group's Vice president Graeme Grieve in the celebration of a decade of BMW in Indonesia, on Tuesday.

Graeme says, BMW intends to invest long term in Indonesia without being affected by currency fluctuations. "We believe the market in Indonesia promising and we will produce models - new models in Indonesia, especially for cars - cars that support our sales," he said

Investments are done to mordernize its assembly line, including installation of equipment and new equipment, new recruitment, and training. "Employees at the plant will be increased from 46 people to 106 people," said BMW Indonesia president director Ramesh Divyanathan in equal opportunities.

Currently, the BMW Group is Indonesia produces the BMW 3 series car at the factory bike style Sunter, North Jakarta. After 10 years of presence in Indonesia Indonesia BMW Group continues to strengthen its position in the market. during the first four months of 2011, sales of BMW rose 33 percent from a year earlier to 461 units. market share of the BMW brand in the luxury car segments also increase than 7.7 percent to 27.9 percent in the same period.

Surat Keputusan Bersama (SKB tiga menteri perihal cuti bersama (collective leave)

The Indonesian government announced that it had decided to declare another one-off bridge public holiday (locally known as collective leave) for Friday, June 3, 2011, in conjunction with the already gazetted annual public holiday of Thursday, June 2, 2011, The Ascension Day  of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Banks will remain open for cash and transfer transactions and the Indonesian Stock exchange will operate as normal on Friday, June 3, which the government has declared a compulsory day of leave for civil servants and state institutions, officials have said.
Bank Indonesia (BI) will limit its operations to third-party bank related activities only, and real time gross settlement (RTGS), scriptless securities settlement system (SSSS) and the national clearing system (SKNBI) will operate as normal.
“Bank Indonesia will be closed to the public, but will remain open for limited transactions, for cash and non-cash transactions both in rupiah and in other foreign currencies,” the central bank’s official announcement read.
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) followed the central bank’s lead, declaring that banking activities, mainly settlements and transfers for traders and investors, would operate as usual.
“The stock exchange will open on June 3 to serve the public,” Wan Wei Yiong, an IDX director, told The Jakarta Post in a text message.
The government has declared Friday, June 3 as a “collective leave” day, to bridge the weekend with the June 2 national holiday marking Christ Ascension Day.

Find out why you must avoid breast enlargement surgery

The Dangers of Breast enlargement/Augmentation Surgery

Diane Wedner, Lifescripts Medical Detective, has just completed an investigation of the dangers of breast augmentation. Here she talks about what she found out.

Breast Augmentations are incredibly common these days. The general theme in the world today is - 'Don't like your body? Change it.' Although it seems like a good solution, there are still significant risks that are posed by these surgeries, specifically by breast augmentations.

Plastic surgery is a booming business. Surgeons line up by the thousands every single day, creating almost anything you want. The reality is that one of the most popular surgeries out there - is breast augmentation. So how popular is breast enhancement?

There are over 1,000,000 breast surgeries performed every single year.
Women 19-34 make up approximately 50% of all the total surgeries.
Women 52 and up only make up 7% of all breast enhancement surgeries.
The average breast enhancement surgery is ~$3,500.

With these types of statistics, it's undeniable that breast enhancement is a booming business. So if it's so popular, how can there still be dangers? Simple. People want to believe that breast enhancement is a 100% safe procedure. Not only this, but the advertisers and surgeons out there want you to believe it's safe as well! When everybody wants to believe something is safe, it's easy to overlook the dark side.

Dangers of Breast Enhancements

With every artificial enhancement to our body, the risks drastically increase. So what are the risks when it comes to breast enhancements? We'll take a look at some of the most common risks.

Unnatural Look - One of the most common side effects is the unnatural look that breast enhancements can create. Although many women might want larger breasts, very rarely will they want larger breasts at the expense of unnatural looking breasts.
Rippling Effect - As the skin is stretched from breast implants, it is very easy for a rippling effect to occur. This effect is noticeable on the sides of the breasts where the skin collapses upon itself from being stretched too thin.
Scar Tissue - There is almost always some form of visible scar tissue from breast enhancement. Of course, this creates a permanent mark that can damage the appearance of your body.

Of course these things aren't going to be the first things you will hear in the doctor's office. Plastic surgeons are some of the highest paid doctors in the country due to the nature of cosmetic surgeries. The general nature and corruption with cosmetic companies and doctors results in false advertisements on a regular basis.

Most people's explanation for breast enhancement surgeries is that not only would they like to have larger breasts, but they also know someone that has had the surgery. This is understandable; however, there are over 35,000 breast enhancement removals per year, meaning that almost 4% of breast enhancement surgeries go so bad that they can't even keep the implants!

What are some other un-desired effects of breast enhancements?

10 Year Replacement - The surgeries all come with a time-line - meaning that they must be replaced every 10 years. With each replacement comes an increase in risk for a problem occurring. Not only this, but most people don't want to be 40, 50, and 60 years old replacing breast implants - so generally at some point in time, they will decide to not replace it. This means that the body will be distorted from the years of having the implants.
Constant Massaging - Implants must be massaged everyday and on a very consistent basis to avoid the hardening of breasts. Meaning, that if you develop arthritis - let's hope you have somebody that you love!
Back Problems - This is one of the largest problems when it comes to breast enhancements. Back problems occur on a regular basis due to the irregular weight distribution on the body. The problem is that backs are meant to hold what is naturally there, rather than an artificial weight on the front your body.
Infections - An often time overlooked problem with breast enhancement surgeries are the infections that will often time set in. Not only do infections cause an intense amount of pain, but they can cause you to have to turn around and remove the breast implants as well.

Is Breast Enhancement Surgery for You?

Although there are numerous side effects and many risks to the procedure of breast enhancement, there are still numerous women every year that perform this surgery, whom are extremely happy with the results. The most important aspect is to realize that breast augmentation is a much higher risk surgery than what doctors and advertisers will let on.

If you are considering breast augmentation and have decided that there is no way that you will ever be happy with the size of your breasts - it's important to consider the more natural & less evasive.

Here you can find out more about safe breast enlargement program

http://track.moreniche.com/hit.php?w=233431&s=170

it is important to examine some of the potential complications that can result from this surgery. An examination of the possible dangers of breast implants includes:

    Deflation/Rupture:
The most common concern for patients that have undergone breast augmentation is that their breast implants would deflate either through a leak within the implant or through a rupture of the implant shell. There are many potential causes for deflation/rupture and the solution to this problem involves additional surgery to remove and possibly replace the breast implant.
    Capsular Contracture:
In this situation, capsule (scar tissue) that typically forms around the breast implant tightens and then squeeze the breast implant. Typically following infection, symptoms of capsular contracture range from mild firmness and discomfort to severe pain and movement of the breast implant. To rectify this, additional surgery will be needed to remove the breast implant capsule tissue and possibly the breast implant itself.
    Hermatoma/Seroma:
The collection of blood inside a blood tissue is known as hermatoma and seroma refers to a collection of the watery portion of the blood. Postoperative hermatoma and seroma may lead to infection and possibly capsular contracture. If large hermatomas and seromas occur, the patient will need to have surgical drains for proper healing.
Change in Nipple and Breast Sensation:
Considering the great changes that you are making to your breasts, you should expect either an increase or decrease in feeling of the nipple and breast. Change can range from intense sensitivity to no feeling and can be temporary or permanent.
    Pain:
It is natural to feel pain of varying intensity and duration following breast augmentation. However, severe pain can be a result of complications of your surgery such as improper size or placement. If you are feeling severe pain, you should contact your plastic surgeon.
    Infection:
Like any other surgery, infection can result during breast augmentation. However, treating infections are harder in patients with breast implants than in patients with normal body tissues.
    Breast Tissue Atrophy/Chest Wall Deformity:
This can result when the pressure of the breast implant has caused the patient's breast tissue to thin and shrink. This phenomenon can occur while the breast implants are in place or following breast implant removal.
    Additional Surgeries:
The likelihood that a breast augmentation patient will have to undergo additional surgeries in their lifetime has increased dramatically. Surgeries will be necessary at some point to replace or remove the breast implant.
    Dissatisfaction with Cosmetic Results:
This is a problem faced by any time of cosmetic surgery. Wrinkling, asymmetry, implant displacement, incorrect size, unanticipated shape, implant palpability, scar deformity, hypertrophic scarring, and sloshing are some of the phenomena that can occur, which often leave patients unsatisfied with their final results.

If sleep eludes you as soon as your head hits the pillow, stop tossing and turning, and try one of these effective fall asleep fast tricks below.
Honey and Sleep – A spoonful of raw, unpasteurized honey (not processed), is proven to help you fall asleep fast.  And, whether you stir it into a cup of tea, or lick it right off the spoon, honey goes to work quickly to trigger the release of the all-important sleep hormone melatonin.  Melatonin is necessary in regulating our sleep cycle, as well as suppressing stress hormones, such as cortisol and adrenaline,  that can contribute to keeping us awake at night. Valerian and Sleep – This herb has been used in Europe for decades, and studies have proven that the herb valerian helps prevent insomnia and other sleep disturbances from the very first dose.  In fact, it’s so effective that for 90% of those who take 100 mg right before bed, they are able to fall asleep almost immediately.  Valerian is safe, non-habit forming, and won’t leave your drowsy the next day.  You can find valerian root in both capsule and tea form at your local health food store, as well as online.
Music for Sleeping – We all know the effect that soft lullaby music has on babies, but you don’t need to be a baby to get the same sleep-inducing benefits.  While you don’t have to listen to a nursery lullaby, studies show that listening to slow, relaxing music, especially those without lyrics, 30 minutes before bed, has a great calming effect on the brain.  Those who listen to slow, relaxing music prior to bed, not only fall asleep much faster, they also are much more likely to stay asleep throughout the night.

Bali’s Employment Profile as of May 2011

Bali’s Employment Profile

Bali by the Numbers: Agriculture and Tourism Account for 56.65% of all Jobs in Bali as Tourism is Poised to Displace Farming as Island's Top Employment Generator.

The agricultural sector remains to be the largest employer in Bali. The fact , however, that farming as a profession is under threat due to the rapid diversion of arable lands away from agricultural pursuits to villa building and a resulting decline of 3.88% in farming jobs over the past year, duplicating a similar loss in farming jobs in 2010 as compared to 2009.

Statistics provided by the Bali Bureau of Statistics show 28.84% of all employment in Bali emanates from the farming sector

The next largest employment generator in Bali is "trade" which embraces accommodation provider and restaurants, the mainstays of Bali’s large tourist industry. The trade sector accounts for 27.81% of all jobs, only 1% behind agriculture. Suggesting that tourism will almost certainly overtake agriculture as the top job generator is the fact that while employment increased 31.13% in the trade category over last year, agricultural jobs declined 4.58% during the same period. If this trend continues, agriculture in Bali  will lose its top role as an employer in 2011.

The construction sector is booming in Bali, growing 47.88% in the past year reflected by the many construction cranes that dot Kuta’s skyline. Construction now creates 8.19% of all employment in Bali.

Registered unemployment figures released by the government for February 2011 indicate a 2.86% "open" unemployment rate, compared to 3.57% 12 months before.

Bali is an Indonesian island located in the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying between Java to the west and Lombok to the east. It is one of the country's 34 provinces with the provincial capital at Denpasar towards the south of the island.
With a population recorded as 3,891,000 in 2010 the island is home to most of Indonesia's small Hindu minority. In the 2000 census about 92.29% of Bali's population adhered to Balinese Hinduism while most of the remainder follow Islam. It is also the largest tourist destination in the country and is renowned for its highly developed arts, including traditional and modern dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalworking, and music. Bali, despite being a tourist haven for decades, has seen a surge in tourist numbers in recent years.

Economy

Three decades ago, the Balinese economy was largely agriculture-based in terms of both output and employment. Tourism is now the largest single industry; and as a result, Bali is one of Indonesia’s wealthiest regions. About 80% of Bali's economy depends on tourism. The economy, however, suffered significantly as a result of the terrorist bombings 2002 and 2005. The tourism industry is slowly recovering once again.

Agriculture

Tegalalang rice terrace in Ubud
Although tourism produces the GDP's largest output, agriculture is still the island’s biggest employer; most notably rice cultivation. Crops grown in smaller amounts include fruit, vegetables, Coffea arabica and other cash and subsistence crops.Fishing also provides a significant number of jobs. Bali is also famous for its artisans who produce a vast array of handicrafts, including batik and ikat cloth and clothing, wooden carvings, stone carvings, painted art and silverware. Notably, individual villages typically adopt a single product, such as wind chimes or wooden furniture.
The Arabica coffee production region is the highland region of Kintamani near Mount Batur. Generally, Balinese coffee is processed using the wet method. This results in a sweet, soft coffee with good consistency. Typical flavors include lemon and other citrus notes. Many coffee farmers in Kintamani are members of a traditional farming system called Subak Abian, which is based on the Hindu philosophy of "Tri Hita Karana”. According to this philosophy, the three causes of happiness are good relations with God, other people and the environment. The Subak Abian system is ideally suited to the production of fair trade and organic coffee production. Arabica coffee from Kintamani is the first product in Indonesia to request a Geographical Indication.
