In cooperation with Hotel Tugu Bali, the Alliance Française de Denpasar will present ‘"French Stories" – an evening of contemporary jazz with French pianist, composer and producer Cédric Hanriot.
Cédric Hanriot's performances includes original compositions and well-known pieces from the history of the Chanson Française with music from the songbooks of Jacques Brel, Leo Ferre, Serge Gainsbourg, Charles Aznavour and Edith Piaf.

Frenchman Cédric Hanriot is a graduate from Berkley School of Music and has performed internationally at the Iridium New York, Vancouver International Jazz Festival, International Jazz Soloist Contest in Monaco and Universal Exposition 2010 in Shanghai.
In his latest project "FRENCH STORIES", Cédric's joins forces with Jean-Baptiste Pinet on the drums and Bertrand Beruard on the bass.
Trio Cedric Hanriot will perform at the Hotel Tugu Bali in Canggu, on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 7 pm. Admission is free for those who RSVP before April 28th or at Rp. 150,000 (US$16.70) at the door on the night of the performance.

16th French Film Festival
World-class French films are making a grand tour of Indonesia during the 16th French Festival in Indonesia with visits to Jakarta, Balikpapan, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bandung and Denpasar (Bali).
"The Festival is a cultural event where the Indonesian audience can interact with French culture through films. This year, we are highlighting French-style romantic comedies, to show that French films can very well be fresh, funny, and entertaining", said Fréderic Alliod, Audiovisual Attaché of the French Embassy in Jakarta.
This will be the 12th year that the festival includes Bali in its national tour. Open to the public without charge, six films will be screened in DFS Galeria XXI at Simpang Siur from April 23-24, 2011, over a total of 10 screenings.
The films represent a wide variety of genres. Documentaries by renowned filmmakers will be featured: Les plages d'Agnès (The Beaches of Agnès)– the latest film of Agnès Varda, a legendary French female director; and La Danse, the Paris Opera Ballet by Frederick Wiseman - depicting star dancers of the Paris Ballet. Comedic films will also be on show, including :Les Mains en l'Air (Hands up), Ensemble C'est trop (Together's a crowd) and Erreur de la Banque en votre Faveur (Bank error in your favor). A drama based on a true story, La Fille du RER (The girl on the train) and an animated film Kerity, la Maison des Contes (Eleanor's Secret) will all be shown to Bali audiences.
All films are either in English or French with English subtitles
