weds fiancée Jonna Walsh in vintage-inspired ceremony
American Idol winner Lee DeWyze has married his
fiancée Jonna Walsh in an intimate afternoon ceremony in Camarillo, California.
The couple invited about 100 guests
to the vintage-inspired ceremony, flying in family from the singer's native
Chicago.
Jonna, a model and actress, wore a
Lili Bridal strapless lace-embroidered gown.
The couple, who traded classic
wedding bands from Tiffany's, decorated the outdoor venue with blush-coloured
flowers, including peonies and garden roses.
The groom told People: 'It was
really our style of wedding. Outdoors with chandeliers.'
He also said his wedding song would
be available for fans on his next album.
The couple meanwhile plans to
honeymoon in Bali; and Jonna gushed about her first impending trip to the
beautiful Indonesian island, and their plans to see the native wildlife.
'Lee went on his Asian tour, but
I’ve never been there. We are excited to go see some monkeys!' she said.
Lee and Jonna met in October, 2010
after he catapulted to fame on American Idol and launched his mainstream music
career.
The singer then plucked the actress
from a crop of women vying for a role in Lee's music video for his single Sweet
Serendipity. It was the start of a whirlwind courtship that saw him propose
less than nine months later.
He proposed at Disney World in
Florida on July 16, as fireworks lit up the night sky.
He told People at the time: 'Jonna
is a Disney freak. They were playing love songs on the boat and I got down on
my knee and asked her.
'I had a speech prepared but it all
went out the window so I just asked her. She started crying and I said,
"Is that a yes?"''
