Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa Welcomes Home Its Award-Winning Team from Salon Culinaire 2013
Bali, 3 May
2013 – Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa was celebrating
the success of its award -winning culinary team from the Salon Culinaire 2013
held on 10 – 13 April in Jakarta. The competition was divided
into 25 culinary classes ranging from fruit, vegetable and ice carving to
butter sculptures, live cooking competitions and table displays. The culinary
team of Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa won a total of s ix medals and four
certificates of merit as follows:

The competition was organized by
the Association of Culinary Professionals Indonesia and joined by 615 chefs
from various five- star hotels and restaurants in Indonesia such as Bali,
Jakarta, Bandung and Medan, as well as some countries such as Malaysia,
Singapore and South Korea.
The culinary team of Nusa Dua Beach Hotel
& Spa regularly attends various culinary competitions. "Salon Culinaire
is a good opportunity for our
chefs to showcase their skills and help them gain recognition for their work
on an international platform," said Urs Klee, General Manager Nusa DuaBeach Hotel & Spa.
“I am also pleased to announce
the appointment of Dermot Birchall as our new Director of Food &
Beverage and I Nyoman Wijana as Executive Sous-Chef. With their vast
experiences, I believe they will bring
both creativity and passion that inspire our team and delights our guests”,
stated Mr. Klee.
Born in Ireland, Mr. Dermot Birchall is a
graduate of the Shannon College of Hotel
Management, Ireland. He has gained extensive international experience
developing his career throughout Europe, Africa, United States, C.I.S and Asia,
specializing in Food and Beverage management. In this key role, Dermot is fully
responsible for the management and successful operation of all food and beverage facilities in the resort including
its nine restaurants and bars, in - room dining and banqueting services.

I Nyoman Wjiana is joining Nusa Dua Beach
Hotel & Spa with over 14 years of
experience as a chef in five - star hotels and restaurants in Bali and Lombok.
In his new role, Chef Wijana will oversee the development of our food concepts
at the resort.
