Press Through To Your Breakthrough
YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT WHEN YOU SET OUT TO DO THE WILL OF GOD, THE ENEMY IS NOT GOING TO SIT AROUND AND WATCH YOU! THIS IS THE TIME YOU HAVE TO PRESS THROUGH WITH YOUR FAITH AND PRAYER AND PERSEVERANCE.
3 WAYS NEHEMIAH TEACHES US HOW TO PRESS THROUGH:
We must ignore the persecution and criticism. (Neh. 2:10, 19; 4:1-3)
We must press through discouragement. (Neh. 4:7-23) 
We must press through the temptation to compromise: Nehemiah 6:1-14 

We must not compromise when it comes to God’s timing. When you do it God's way, you get His results—which are exceeding, abundantly above all that you could ask or think. With God’s help, YOU CAN PRESS any opposition that comes your way—and you will get YOUR breakthrough!

How Can I Trust God?
Text: Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust is the assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something.
One in which confidence is placed.

TRUST: T = Test R = Rest U = Uproot S = Stand T = Timing

1. The first “T” in the word trust stands for TEST: James 1:2-4, 12

▪ Trust means you understand that the trial you’re in is a test of your faith—and you must

see it for what it actually is.

▪ Trust looks like YOU being faithful to God during the test.

2. The “R” in the word trust stands for REST: Psalm 91:1

▪ When you are walking by faith, you have a rest about you.

▪ There is a reservoir of supernatural peace that we can tap into. Psalm 94:13

▪ Trust is a picture of YOU at rest.

3. The “U” in the word trust stands for UPROOT: II Corinthians 10:5

▪ There are some things we need to uproot in our lives—in order to walk in that rest.

▪ Uproot the lies of Satan. John 8:44, John 10:10

▪ Control your thoughts instead of letting your thoughts control you.

▪ Replace the lies with God’s powerful Word—and Truth!

▪ Trust looks like YOU uprooting the lies and focusing your thoughts on God’s thoughts.

4. The “S” in the word trust stands for STAND: Ephesians 6:13-14

▪ To stand means to hold your ground! I Timothy1:19, I Thessalonians 5:21, Hebrews 10:23

▪ Stand in faith knowing God is working on your behalf.

▪ Standing is a position of faith and trust.

▪ Trust is a picture of YOU standing firm in faith, knowing the victory is on the way.

5. The second “T” in the word trust stands for TIMING: Psalm 31:15

▪ God is the God of how and when.

▪ It’s not a matter of IF He will deliver you—but WHEN He will deliver you!

▪ God’s ways are not our ways. He wants what is best for us EVEN when it’s hard.

▪ Even when things seem chaotic, God is still in control.

▪ Trust looks like YOU patiently waiting on God’s timing.

T = Test R = Rest U = Uproot S = Stand T = Timing

Lisa Osteen Comes is an Associate Pastor at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas under the leadership of her brother, Pastor Joel Osteen. In her role, she brings over 25 years of preaching and ministry experience to the congregation and is involved in many aspects of the church’s leadership.
Lisa is a notable miracle of our day, having been healed of a crippling disease as a baby. Injured at birth, Lisa developed a condition similar to cerebral palsy which doctors said would cripple her and cause her early death. But as her parents prayed for her, God miraculously healed Lisa before her first birthday.
In 1990, while serving at Lakewood Church, again Lisa’s life was spared when she opened a package containing a pipe bomb that exploded in her lap, riddling her office with nails and shrapnel. God miraculously protected her and she escaped with minor injuries.
Through all of her challenges and experiences, Lisa has become known as a respected ministry leader and Bible teacher. Lisa’s passion for God’s Word and love for people radiate in her practical, yet insightful messages. Lisa is a graduate of Oral Roberts University. She and her husband, Kevin, work together at Lakewood Church and they have three children.
